Most moms, and some dads, have probably heard that Johnson + Johnson company has only just now declared their dedication to remove harmful and potentially harmful chemicals from their baby, adult health care products, with a clean slate by 2015.
As a previous user of Baby Aveeno, a J+J company, baby wash/lotion, I have decided to quit the products containing anything with Parabens and other harmful or irritating ingredients.
Going through my bathroom and nursery, I found that Johnson's Bedtime Lotion does, in fact, have Parabins. Also that Desitin has paraffin, an irritant to sensitive, allergy and eczema prone skin. Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash has sulfates, a well known irritants to the eyes and skin.
I've pasted in a particularly important part of a CBS new article, of which you can read in full length here: CBS News Johnson and Johnson Phase Out Harmful Chemicals
Highlight:
"Parabens are the most commonly used preservative in cosmetics, according to the FDA, and have been tied breast cancer risk. Phthalates have been tied to hormone disruption upping diabetes and obesity risk."
Highlight:
" However, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration doesn't regulate cosmetic products."
With all this new information on what exactly is in the products I use on my baby's skin, I feel confident that Perfectly Posh products are the best for her, over Johnson and Johnson. Posh's Fabulous Baby wash and lotion are Vegan and the most gentle of their kind, that I've found, to date. Plus side, for those Fur-parents, the Fab Baby wash is perfect for ththe four legged children as well.
No irritants, easy on the eyes and muzzle. No need to worry about soap getting into puppy's eyes.
